Words from our founder
Hello, my name is Mark.
Thanks so much for visiting our website!
Like many, I enjoyed a lifelong fascination with space exploration, particularly the Apollo Space Program. It is a subject close to my heart and one that has never failed to enlighten me with fascinating insights into one of the greatest periods of science and engineering discoveries. It is interesting to note how many of these discoveries still resonate throughout our lives today. I have personally found it a subject that just keeps giving the deeper you dive into the detail.
Having a background in computing, electronics and mechanical engineering naturally led me to the fascinating subject of the Apollo Guidance Computer. In 2019 whilst working on a project integrating miniature OLED displays, I recognised how similar the vibrant glow of these displays matched that of the original electroluminescent display of the Apollo DSKY. It was with this thought that I started to investigate the feasibility of designing an aesthetically accurate and functionally authentic reproduction of the Apollo DSKY that was small enough to be worn on the wrist. Through intensive research of archival documentation and drawings and investigations into microelectronics and micro–engineering a true masterpiece of miniaturisation has finally been realised in the form of the Apollo Instruments DSKY.
It was always my intention to make the DSKY an engaging experience and although marketed as a Moonwatch our DSKY has a much broader remit and can be considered a wearable computer with support for multiple programming platforms and connectivity for electronic development.
None of this could have been achieved without the very talented team that has grown around the project over the last four years. To highlight our talent pool two of our engineers have come from a leading Formula 1 team and their input will reward our customers with a product that has been designed to a very high standard.
Moving forward I would like to see Apollo Instruments become a focal point for space enthusiasts with authentic quality products that not only allow our customers to immerse themselves into the narrative of mankind’s greatest journey but also offer an engaging experience that will inspire creativity and a continued thirst for knowledge. I am keen to see our community grow to inspire creativity and support others on their journeys of discovery. To this end, I would personally like to see the DSKY contributing to inspiring our next generation of scientists and engineers through STEM subjects for which its rich features are perfectly placed to support learning across all the STEM disciplines.
We’d love to have you join us on our journey. Come and join us!

Apollo Instruments Press Release – January 30th 2025
For Immediate Release.
DSKY Moonwatch Rockets Towards Full Production as Space Legends Join the Mission
The countdown to full-scale production is accelerating, and Apollo Instruments remains on course to meet its  target for the DSKY Moonwatch. This groundbreaking timepiece—an intricate tribute to the Apollo Guidance Computer—is already making history, with orders spanning 29 countries and a growing global community of enthusiasts, engineers, and pioneers.
Momentum continues to build as space industry professionals and tech visionaries rally behind the project. Among the latest DSKY customers are members of NASA and the United States Space Force—true space explorers who recognise the watch’s authenticity and innovation. Silicon Valley has also taken notice, with key players eager to propel the DSKY project into orbit. And in a moment of profound significance, the legendary Margaret Hamilton—MIT software engineer, Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient, and the very person who coined the term software engineering—has personally reached out to secure her own DSKY Moonwatch.
Adding further prestige, Apple co-founder and tech luminary Steve Wozniak has joined the mission, proving that the watch isn’t just a passion project for space historians—it’s a beacon for forward-thinkers who appreciate innovation, heritage, and cutting-edge technology. The DSKY community is already thriving with a number of notable contributors sharing ideas and preparing to integrate the original Apollo guidance computer code.
Yet, while much of the global coverage has celebrated DSKY’s ingenuity, a few misconceptions have crept in – let’s set the record straight: this is not a calculator watch, nor is it crowd-funded. It is, however, an engineering marvel, delivering a fully functional, out-of-the-box experience for everyone—whether you’re a coding genius or simply a space enthusiast who loves the spirit of Apollo.
As excitement builds, Apollo Instruments will release further updates focusing on the DSKY’s revolutionary technology and limitless programming potential. With every passing day, the dream of owning a piece of space history inches closer to reality.
